Katy on Broadway is a cute children’s book about a cat named Katy who wants to be famous. She loves to sing. She needs to sing. It’s a part of who she is. But no one seems to like her singing. Gerry the Squirrel throws acorns at her, and even the birds tell her to leave the singing to them. But Katy refuses to give up. One day, she’s had enough of Gerry and leaps at him. But she ends up running too far, and then she’s lost. She meets up with an alley cat named Weasel, and he tells her she can sing. This gives her a boost of confidence, and Katy is even more determined to become famous. But will her dream ever come true? And will she ever find her way back home? I thought this was a cute story. The illustrations are delightful, and the story is fun and easy to read. Kids will enjoy following along with Katy on her journey to stardom. And once the book is over, kids will want more adventures with Katy. It’s a wonderful start to a cute new series for young readers. 5 stars!

I can’t enough great things about this book. It is perfect for beginning chapter readers. The chapters are short and easy to read. The pictures are beautiful and fit the book perfectly. I read this with my daughter who is 8 years old and we both loved it. Katy goes on an adventure to live out her dream despite many discouraging her. I loved this message to follow your dreams no matter what. Katy believed she could be a singer and her journey was not easy but she kept a great attitude and kept going.
